I waited 1.5 hours to get my car cleaned today, I went to get my bangs trimmed and they couldn't fit me in, I arrived home to a dirt filled floor from my plants that my dog had destroyed (see my stories..), while cleaning up said mess I missed my postal lady and therefore had to drive to the post office to ship orders. So, I came back home and took a two hour nap. We then went and got dinner instead of cooking. My days aren't perfect, most are like this. But, hey, any day that consists of a nap is a win.
Fireplace Makeover
I have a list a mile long of projects for our house. For the past five years of our marriage, we have rented, so this is the first home we can "change." Many of the projects I want to tackle include tile, but we have never tiled before. So, we decided to start with this small, flat, okay if it is un-even space.
It is such a simple change, but it adds so much more character to this space. I still plan to add a couple of changes to the fireplace, but for now, we can now say "we can tile!"
Thankfully, my husband took charge and did 90% of the work. I simply sat there, talked, and added mortar to the tiles.
The first day, we laid all of the tile and let is dry for 24 hours before adding the grout.
Day two, we (Justin) added the grout. I did nothing but empty the buckets of water. I think I like projects. ;)
Day three, we caulked the edges. We then cleaned the tile to remove any water residue and excess grout.
First tile project = success
Monday's Faves - On A Budget
Today, I am giving you some cheaper options! For outdoor photo sessions, I always grab the quilts with different colors throughout and definitely any with blue. From personal experience, quilts with blue (specifically, darker blues) tend to match well with client outfits.
So, if I had a session this evening, these are the three quilts I would grab (if I couldn't afford to take the $150+ quilts)
*These quilts are still available as of 10AM 7/17/17
Patchwork Quilt - $70
This quilt is a favorite. If it didn't have those couple of holes, it would be an amazing quilt. The darker colors that fill this quilt show up so well in photos. These darker colors add a lot of contrast to photos.

Patchwork Block Quilt - $65
I love this quilt, and it is perfect for outdoor photo sessions! Blue has worked so well for me during shoots, so I always grab quilts like this. This quilt is a must for me if I was shooting today!

Diamonds Cutter Quilt - $55
This quilt obviously has some wear and holes, but I love the neutral blocks mixed with the dark blue blocks! This quilt would look perfect during a yummy golden light session.
