Shout Out | Stephanie Simmons Photography

A field, a gorgeous family, and a quilt, is all you need for a photo session. These images from Stephanie Simmons Photography literally took my breath away.

This session was an important one for Stephanie. She was busy, burned out, and overall not loving what she was doing. This session was exactly what she needed and reminded her of why she loves this job. She chose her favorite location (and um, yes, it's amazing) and brought along one of her favorite families. From the location, to the adorable little girl, to the sunset, to the interaction between the parents, it was just what Stephanie needed.

Sometimes all we need is to step out of the normal, do something for *us*, and also have some fun with a quilt! ha! Stephanie, this session is beautiful, full of emotion, and just enough chunky rolls.

Friends, do something for *you*. Go to that location you love. Ask your friends to be your subject. Play around with a fun prop (like one of my quilts ;) ), and just have fun and create art.

Bathroom Makeover

I painted a room *not* white.

I chose the lightest pink on the swatches, but I still wish I would have had them add more white.

It is such a small room, so I decided, on a whim, to go pink!

This simple project couldn't have been easier. I painted the walls, added floating shelves, framed out the mirror, and added frames. I already owned all of the decor pieces.

To frame the mirror, we bought pre cut wood from Lowes, painted it white, and glued it to the mirror. Yes, it was that easy. Too easy.

And Target had pink gingham towels in the $1 bins, so that was a must. An absolute must.

Monday's Faves

I always take three or more quilts with me to a photo session. Why? Because I don't always know what my client will show up wearing. I tend to take patchwork quilts and ones that have a lot of different colors. This will make sure you have something that will match well. I also lean towards quilts with a lot of blue and deeper colors.

These are three quilts that are currently listed (and still available as of 8AM CST, 9/11/17). These are three that I would take with me if I had a session today!

Patchwork Quilt - $100

I love the colors and fabrics in this one. These deeper colors work great for outdoor sessions. It is also helpful to have several colors so that it will match whatever your client shows up wearing.

Block Quilt - $90

This quilt is a must for me! I always grab the quilts with lots of blue. Blue quilts tend to match whatever my client shows up wearing. This one also has other, deeper colors to help match outfits.

Diamonds Quilt - $55

Like the one above, this quilt is full of blue. This quilt would be the first I would pull out of my car for a photo shoot. I *love* the simplicity of this quilt.
