Monday's Faves

There are many opinions on the best quilts for photo sessions. A lot of this comes down to the look and feel you are going for. If you shoot more bright and airy, quilts with more white may be best. If you are a moodier shooter, then quilts with less bright and happy colors might be best.

But, for me, these quilts will always work when I show up to a photo session. I always lean towards quilts with a variety of colors. I don't always know what my client will show up wearing, so it is helpful to have every color available. I also always grab quilts with a lot of blues and darker tones. Blue always matches outfits well and darker tones add contrast to my photos.

Also, I had a photo session this past Friday evening and took all three of these with me! These are all still available in the shop (as of 8AM CST 10/2).

Signature Quilt - $185

This stunning quilt is in excellent condition. I love the bright, vibrant colors. I chose this quilt because of its varying colors, along with a lot of green and blue. This quilt will easily match different outfit choices that your client shows up wearing.

Churn Dash Quilt - $115

This lovely quilt is also in great condition. It has a variety of colors, with bits of deeper colors. I have found that quilts with these deeper colors show up extra well for photos. I also have a thing for floral fabrics.

Monday's Faves

I always take three or more quilts with me to a photo session. Why? Because I don't always know what my client will show up wearing. I tend to take patchwork quilts and ones that have a lot of different colors. This will make sure you have something that will match well. I also lean towards quilts with a lot of blue and deeper colors.

These are three quilts that are currently listed (and still available as of 8AM CST, 9/11/17). These are three that I would take with me if I had a session today!

Patchwork Quilt - $100

I love the colors and fabrics in this one. These deeper colors work great for outdoor sessions. It is also helpful to have several colors so that it will match whatever your client shows up wearing.

Like the one above, this quilt is full of blue. This quilt would be the first I would pull out of my car for a photo shoot. I *love* the simplicity of this quilt.

Monday's Faves | On a Budget

todayspicks5.jpg

Besides adding some extra color or texture to you photo sessions, quilts are also necessary and practical. So many times I have arrived to a session and the ground is semi damp or there is mud. Your client doesn't want to sit down and get their nice clothes dirty. And we all know we love sitting down shots! So, yay for pretty quilts.

I tend to choose quilts with lots of colors, lots of blues, and lots of neutrals. I went through my stash and chose three quilts (I always take at least three quilts with me on a session) that I would personally take with me. These are three quilts currently listed (as of noon 8/28).

Nine Patch Quilt - $55

I always grab quilts full of blue fabrics. They tend to match client's clothes best during a session. This is full of blue and other neutrals!

I love this quilt for photo sessions! It is also full of blue (my fave). Besides the main sections of blue, the other blocks are full of different colors. There are a few stains.
